The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

One little crablet toddled out of the crab hut to look around. Anyone by the food dish? Nope. Anyone by the water dishes? Nope. Anyone over by the climbing logs? Nope. The rest of the troupe were back in the crab house. Poor little guy looked so lonesome I lifted the crab house and scooted a few out. It was about the time they usually wake up anyway.



Instant party! Two got in the water dishes. One made a beeline for the food dish. One went over by the climbing log and climbed up. My little lonely guy now had his little buddies, and he was instantly happy. I could tell by the waving of his antenna as he greeted each one and they all toddled around together.



The big giants were still snoozing in the corner. I let them be, because when they get to clunking around, the little ones get knocked around a bit and sometimes get pushed away from the food and water dishes. This way, the little guys can get what they need and have a little fun by themselves.



One is now IN the food dish. One is digging a hole in a corner. One is rolling around in the water dish having a bath. One is burrowing beside the water dish, where it is warm and moist. One is checking out empty shells.



Boy, are they fun to watch.

So I bought the biggest crab hut I could find, to house my two big crabs. They adopted it right away and used it, then they discovered the other, smaller crab hut at the other end of the tank...where the little crabs hang out.



The big guys wanted to hang out with the little guys. Unfortunately the doorways are too small to let the big guys in, so what do they do? Dig under the huts and burrow in that way. I lifted the crab house and found the two big guys and the six little ones all crammed in together. The little guys came tumbling out, I think they were stuck in there and couldn't get out due to the big guys blocking the doorway.



The little guys went toddling around, and I put the big guys in their big house. Later I went to check...and damn if they didn't dig into that little house again. It's funny how they all like to hunker down together. I guess it's all right, as long as I check on them daily, so the little guys can get in and out and eat and drink all right.

I never thought of crabs as anything else other than food, now you are making me wonder maybe I should eat two instead of one as I don't want the first little crab to get lonely !
